“Don’t worry,he will come back very soon” Ashley said as we took a walk around the park.

“I have been calling him but his phone is switched off”

“He did that because he needs time to think,i mean his parents just found out that he has been studying Music for the past Four years”

“He’s really good, Ashley,i havr so much Faith in his dream”

“I know that,i just wish his parents also see that”

I was at one of my friend’s place,his name is Bryan,he practically lives alone.

He has the same kind of parents i have, they are also never around for him.

He is aspiring to be a professional dancer, the only difference he and i have is that his own parent support his dream.

“How did they find out?”he asked me as we both sat on the stairs of his house with a drink in our hand.

“I was doing my last project for the semester,they saw the project handbook”

“Why are they forcing you?”

“I don’t really know why,my mom used to love it when i sing but suddenly she changed”

“You know i think this stuff is partly my fault,i was the one who gave you the idea of deceiving them into thinking you were actually studying Engineering”

“Don’t say that,you helped me when i needed a plan”

“So how is she?” Bryan asked and i was confused.

“Who?”

“Your girlfriend?”

“Come on,your phone is literally filled with her pictures” He said making me chuckle.

“She’s not just my girlfriend, she’s the woman i want to spend the rest of my life with”

“Does she support your dream?”

“More than anyone, She’s like my muse”

I haven’t spoken to Xander for a week and it’s killing me.

I don’t know if he’s okay,am just so worried.

I decided to go to his house and try to convince his parents.

I knocked a few times until i heard a come in.

I opened the door and Xander’s mom was sitting on the couch.

“What are you doing here?” She asked.

“Ma’am,i just came here to talk, that’s all”

“I don’t want to…

“It’s about Xander, please” I said and she sighed.

“Sit down” She said and i sat down.

“Have you heard from him?” she asked

“No,have you?”

“No,i don’t even expect him to talk to me,i have hurt him so much”

“He once told me that there was a time you supported his career, what changed?”

“Oh, Gianna, there are some questions that should be left unanswered, i love my son and I would support anything that he wants to be”

“Alexander is a good singer and songwriter,you really have to see him sing, he’s amazing and whenhe plays the guitar or piano,you get lost in it”

“Trust me,i know all of that,ever since he was little,he loved music”

“Then why are you forcing him to do what he doesn’t want to do?”

“Because…

“Because we are his parents and he has to obey us” Xander’s father said as he walked towards us.

“Look, Gianna,i know you are his girlfriend or whatever but you have no right in this issue”

“She has all the right in the world,Dad” A voice said,we turned around and it was Xander.

“Xander!”i said and and hugged him.

“You came back” Xander’s mom said smiling.

“So you have finally decided to go by my rules?”

“No,dad,i came back only because of Gianna”

“Then you have no business in my house,get out”

“Peter, please listen to him” Xander’s mom said.

“NO!”

“Before i leave,i just wanted to let you know that no matter what am not going to give up on my dreams”

Xander dragged me along with him, outside his house.

He hugged me the minute we got outside.

“I have missed you so much” He said.

“We are not even married yet and you have already started getting me so worried” I said making him chuckle.

“Am sorry,Babe,i just needed space”

“So are you leaving again?”

“No,i will stay at your house” He said and i smiled at him.

“Bro,you know i always have your back,no matter what” Jamal said to me.

“Thanks”

“And you are always welcome here, hunnie” Gianna’s mom said smiling at me.

“Thanks again”

“Okay,am going to the office,so Gianna prepare something for Xander”

“Okay,mom”Gianna said as her mom walked away, Jamal also left.

Gianna kept staring at me so worriedly.

“I know what you are thinking..You are thinking about my relationship with my parents”

“Yes, Xander, that’s what am thinking,your dad obviously doesn’t like me, Graduation is a few days away,am so worried about everything and am scared that this will threaten our relationship”

“If they even dare to tear us apart,we will run away”

“Run away?”

“Yeah,i can’t afford to lose you, Gianna,If am going to be a famous singer, you are going to be by my side, I want you to bear my last name and to be the mother of my kids”

Tears were already rolling down her eyes,i used my thumb to wipe it off.

“I wish i can go with you” I said to Xander as he was dressing up.

“It’s okay,you have to submit your final poject today,you can always hear me sing anytime”

Xander is going for music practice while i have to go to college to submit my project.

An idea popped into my head.

“Okay, I will see you later”

“Good bye kiss?”

I kissed him,he pulled me closer and his hands went down to my a*s and squeezed it,i quickly pulled away.

“Not today” I said to him,he frowned making me giggle.

“Bye,have fun” i said to him and walked away.

I have rush over to college to finish up so that i can carry out my plan.

I have been rehearsing for a long time and still thinking about my future with Gianna.

“Xander,why don’t you sing for us?” The music teacher,Miss Natalie said.

“Okay”

I picked up my guitar and started to strum it.

I closed my eyes while singing,i was done singing and everyone clapped.

I opened my eyes and i saw my dad,my mom and Gianna.

“Gianna brought us here,she said if we listened to you sing,it would change our mind, Honey,your voice is beautiful” MY mom said and I looked over at Gianna who smiled at me.

My dad didn’t say a word to me,he only stared at me.

“Sorry to interrupt but Alex,over here has an amazing voice and the world needs to hear him” Miss Natalie said.

“Peter, please,just reconsider your decision” My mom said.

“Okay,Fine,You can pursue your dream if being a singer” My dad said and i was beyond shocked
