Barcelona are busy looking to secure new signings for next season, and somewhere near the top of their list is Manchester City’s Eric Garcia.
The young centre-back had agreed a deal in principal to move back to Catalonia last year, but although Barcelona are still very much keen on him, they have offered him a smaller wage packet than what was settled on 12 months ago.
Mateu Alemany has just taken over as sporting director and has begun to make decisions.
One of them has been to give the green light to the signing of Garcia, a player who was very close to signing for Barcelona in the last two windows.
Now, however, Barcelona are looking to reduce that initial proposal, due to the club’s financial state which has worsened due to COVID-19 and the subsequent measures imposed.
It now remains to be seen whether the player, who has always been keen on a move back to Barcelona, will accept the proposal.
